Abstract
Подано загальну інформацію про процесорну архітектуру x86 і ARM. Описано підходи RISC і CISC. Проведено огляд базових процесорів Intel Core 13-го покоління і AMD Ryzen 7000-серії. Досліджено технічні особливості та продуктивність архітектури Raptor Lake і Zen 4. Проаналізовано поточний стан справ на ринку материнських плат з новими чіпсетами Intel і AMD.

INTEL RAPTOR LAKE AND AMD ZEN 4 PROCESSOR ARCHITECTURE CONCEPT
English abstract
General information on x86 and ARM processor architectures is provided. The historical stages of the birth and development of the x86 architecture are considered. A brief description of the addition to the x86 architecture – 64-bit processing mode from AMD. RISC and CISC architectural approaches, their common and distinctive features are described. The number of instructions included in a processor built on RISC and CISC is indicated. An overview of basic 13th generation Intel Core processors and AMD Ryzen 7000 series was conducted. Their technical characteristics are described. Information on technological improvements in 13th generation Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors is provided. Changes with previous models, which are built on last year’s processor architecture, are indicated. The thermal power of these processors is considered. The technical features of the Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 4 architectures are studied. The performance of the Raptor Lake and Zen 4 architectures is studied. The main ideas and concepts of these processor architectures are reflected. Advantages and disadvantages of chiplet approach from AMD are described. Numerical results of single-threaded performance increase in 13th generation Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors are presented. Numerical data on other important improvements in the hardware part of the CPU have been generated and presented. These are the frequency and cache memory of the processor. The Thread Director system, which was developed by Intel specialists, is described. Considered an important innovation in AMD Zen 4 – proper hardware support for 512-bit vector instructions, known as AVX-512. The current state of affairs in the motherboard market with new Intel and AMD chipsets is analyzed. AMD Ryzen 7000 series chips work on a new socket – AM5 with an array of LGA contacts on the motherboard. A new technology is described – EXPO from AMD for overclocking DDR5 RAM. In this work, the architectural approaches of Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 4 are considered. Their practical performance is analyzed.
