Анотація

Проаналізовано чинне законодавство, державні норми і стандарти України щодо забезпечення велосипедного руху в населених пунктах. На основі позитивного досвіду розвинених країн сформовано критерії організації комплексної веломережі як складової транспортної системи. Окреслено оптимальні форми велосипедного руху на транспортних розв’язках в одному рівні з наведенням реалізованих прикладів у містах України. Окрему увагу приділено проєктуванню і влаштуванню перетинів велосипедних шляхів на кільцевих розв’язках різного радіусу. Визначено переваги і недоліки різних форм велоруху на розв’язках в одному рівні у залежності від конкретної дорожньо-транспортної ситуації.

EXPERIENCE OF CYCLING TRAFFIC ORGANIZATION ON AT-GRADE INTERSECTIONS IN CITIES OF UKRAINE

English abstract

The bicycle is a contemporary mode of transportation in cities and communities that is gaining popularity against the backdrop of an increasing focus on sustainable mobility. When creating a cycling network, a critical task is to properly arrange it at the streets and roads intersections to ensure convenient and safe movement of the least protected users. This issue is regulated by the sectoral construction norms "At-grade Traffic Intersections" and the state standard "Planning and Design of Cycling Infrastructure", as well as by the Traffic Code. Also, when creating a cycling network in Ukrainian cities and communities, the positive experience of other countries is taken into account, which allows for optimal results. Depending on the chosen form of cycling network on the approaches to the intersection and the availability of road space at the intersection, the most optimal measures for organizing bicycle traffic are selected. A common mistake made by designers that reduces road safety is to "cut off" the cycling network before an intersection, as well as to choose a form that creates conflicts between road users in a particular traffic situation. On the basis of the relevant experience of developed countries, the criteria for the organization of a complex cycling network as a component of the transport system were formed. The optimal forms of cycling traffic on at-grade intersections are outlined, with examples implemented in cities of Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to the design and arrangement of cycle paths on roundabout intersections with different radii. The problem of arranging a safe left turn for cyclists on streets with two or more traffic lanes, including the introduction of shared traffic of cyclists and motor vehicles, the arrangement of a dedicated left-turn zone at regulated intersections and designated bicycle crossings was studied. The advantages and disadvantages of different forms of cycling paths on at-grade intersections are determined, depending on the specific traffic situation.
