Анотація

Обґрунтована необхідність зміни пріоритетів при проєктуванні вулиць з орієнтацією не лише на водіїв транспортних засобів, а на інших учасників дорожнього руху. Розглянуте функціональне зонування вулиць з виділенням основних зон, що відрізняються за призначенням та видом використання. Сформульовано проблеми, які потребують уваги при впорядкуванні вулиць, та запропоновано основні рішення для усунення цих проблем під час благоустрою вулиць залежно від місця розташування вулиці в певній частині міста (периферійній, серединній, центральній). Визначено першочергові заходи щодо гуманізації середовища вулиць і наближення їх до потреб людей та прогресивні засоби для поліпшення комфортності пересувань по вулицям різних учасників дорожнього руху. Запропонований новий навчальний посібник, що дасть змогу готувати сучасних фахівців з інженерного облаштування міських вулиць і доріг.

LATEST APPROACHES TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF CITY STREETS

English abstract

This paper proves the need to change the priorities when designing the streets to focus not only on drivers but also on other road users. At the same time, streets should be treated not only as transport arteries but also as public spaces that should become attractive, convenient, and comfortable for all citizens, including those with special needs. Streets must not only ensure fast, unhindered and safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians but also perform their representative functions, be the development axes. The functional zoning of streets with the allocation of the main zones, which differ in purpose and type of use, is considered. Each of the functional areas of the street must implement the appropriate functions. Problems that need attention in the design of streets are formulated. The main solutions for solving these problems during street improvement are proposed, depending on the location of the street in a specific part of the city (peripheral, middle, central). Priority measures have been identified to humanize the environment of the streets and bring them closer to the needs of city dwellers, namely:  leave the above-ground surface of the streets to pedestrians;  remove parking from sidewalks, lawns, and carriageways;  develop public transport and encourage citizens to use it;  create an effective cycling infrastructure;  apply inclusive design tools. To improve the convenience of movement on the streets for different road users, it is necessary to use the following progressive tools:  means of traffic calming (horizontal, vertical, transverse), which aim to regulate the movement of vehicles and reduce their speed;  bicycle paths;  pedestrian streets and areas;  ramps, elevators, tactile strips, etc.;  signals and means of communication. A new textbook is proposed, which will allow training progressive specialists in the engineering of city streets and roads.
